Hello, Ride readers. Please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Jason Fogelson, Ride’s new Managing Editor, and I want to tell you about what you can expect from this site as we go forward together.
We’re going to continue to explore how we get around now, and the exciting ways that innovators, creators, and makers combine science, technology, engineering, and design to shape the future of transportation and mobility. And we’ll explore ways that the history of transportation impacts our future, and how the existing inventory of vehicles will interact with the technologies that arrive with increasing speed to shape our economy, our environment and our culture.
You’re going to notice some changes here on the site over the next weeks and months.
Our video team will continue to deliver Ride News Now every weekday, highlighting notable events and developments in bite-size chunks. Additionally, the video team will create deeper dives on vehicles, features and technologies, along with fun experiences to share with you along the way.
Our team of writers will continue to create features like Tech’splaining, vehicle comparisons and reviews, and more.
We’ll report on the news, with an important addition: Each news article will conclude with a section entitled “WHY THIS MATTERS,” where our writers will give a brief opinion about how this piece of news is relevant to you now, and how it may affect you in the future.
You’ll be meeting new writers and contributors to the site as we grow. We’re recruiting experts and experienced journalists with the goal of making Ride your primary source of information, education and entertainment about the future of transportation, without abandoning the past.
Our promise to you: We will be honest, ethical, and transparent at all times. We will strive to be timely and accurate to the best of our abilities, and to admit and correct any errors promptly. We will earn your trust, and we will never take that lightly.
We ask you to bring your curiosity, your attention, and your intelligence to the party. We’re all entering uncharted territory together, and it’s going to be a great ride.
Please feel free to add your voice to the site. Every article and video has a comments section, and we hope that you’ll use this area to conduct civil discussions about the topics at hand.
