Hybrid cars and trucks can be an ideal way for car buyers to maximize their MPGs without ever having to worry about connecting a plug and outlet. While plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles have many positives, a hybrid offers the closest thing to having a fuel-saving vehicle that’s nearly identical in everyday operation to a non-hybrid model.

When talking about hybrids, most people immediately think of the Toyota Prius. This midsize hatchback set the template for hybrids, particularly when the second-generation model broke cover during the 2003 New York International Auto Show. Since then, hybrids have grown to include compact and midsize sedans, mainstream and luxury SUVs, and, of course, the latest generation of Prius hatchback.

We’ve compiled a list of every hybrid presently on sale in the U.S. In many cases, we’ve listed the most fuel-efficient version, if there’s any notable difference in mileage between various trim levels. Keep checking back, because we’ll add more models as they’re introduced throughout the year.

Don’t forget to also browse our listings of every plug-in hybrid and every battery-powered car and truck sold in the U.S., too.
