In this episode of Ride News Now with Alison Haislip, Audi is ready to start building the E-Tron GT, California is cooking up a New Deal, and E-Scooters and Bikes are finally legal in New York… with some restrictions.
- Up first, Audi has begun readying its Bollinger Hofe plant for E-Tron GT production. That’s the same facility where the R8 is built, and each super machine will slither out of the same assembly line.
- Next, California is working with a set of automakers to establish a new deal on environmental laws. BMW, Ford, Honda, and Volkswagen are working with legislators to stay a number of steps ahead of any federal regulations related to future emissions standards.
- Finally, New York City is ready to ease its ban on e-scooters and e-bikes. With the big exception of Manhattan. That area is still a no-fly zone for the likes of Bird, Lime, and other electric micro-mobility options.
