In this episode of Ride News Now with Alison Haislip, the Nissan Leaf is currently the all-time EV sales king, an electric race car sets a new record time at the ‘Ring, and Elon Musk says the Tesla Truck will be one amazing do-it-all machine.
- Up first, Nissan has cause for celebration with respect to its Leaf electric vehicle. The Leaf is the first EV to crest the 400,000 units sold milestone. Tesla is fast catching up with its Model 3, but Nissan is ahead of the game in this regard.
- Second, we have a brand-new record lap time for electric vehicles. Volkswagen took its ID.R race car to Germany and blitzed the Green Hell in just 6:05. That’s a forty second improvement compared to the prior record time.
- And last up, we have Elon Musk talking about the upcoming Tesla pickup truck. He’s throwing out some big stats here. Musk says the Truck will cost less than $50,000, be better than the Ford F-150, and drive better than a Porsche 911. Good luck with all of that bro.
