In this episode of Ride News Now with Alison Haislip, Mercedes-Benz is cooking up a Tesla Model S killer, we look at the Rivian R1S, and there’s a Swedish ride share “solution” that’s hopping mad.
- First up, Mercedes-Benz is beginning to roll out products in its electric EQ family of vehicles. The first will be the EQC, but following not too far behind is the EQE electric sedan. With 402 horsepower and a 370 mile driving range, it could be a serious competitor to the Tesla Model S.
- Next, we’re excited to learn more about Rivian and its electric truck options. We’ve heard about the R1T pickup, but the Michigan-based company is also hard at work on a sport utility vehicle. Dubbed the R1S, the seven-passenger SUV should hopefully land for sale sometime in 2021.
- Finally, a Swedish startup has what it believes to be the greenest solution possible in the ride share realm. Cangoroo thinks it can convince folks that pogo sticks are a smart idea. Riders unlock a nearby pogo stick, then hop off to their destination. If you thought e-scooters were dangerous, you’re going to love the Cangoroo pogo sticks.
