In this episode of Ride News Now with Alison Haislip, Segway builds a better e-scooter, Norway nixes gas taxis, and thin is in when it comes to electric cars.

  • First up, Segway is back with a brand new scooter. The company that basically pioneered the stand-up e-scooter space is finally back with a brand new version. Parent company Ninebot has teamed up for this one to bring us the Segway-Ninebot KickScooter MAX. And that MAX is related to the range, which with this scooter is up to 40 miles.
  • Next, Norway is putting a stop to gas-burning taxis. The nation has decided that all cabs operating within its borders will be zero emissions vehicles by 2023. That’s two years ahead of a sales ban for any gas cars in Norway.
  • Finally, an engineering firm called REE has developed an all-encompassing EV skateboard chassis. It’s comprised of motors, brakes, controls, suspension, and more. Basically all you need is a body and interior, and you’re good to go with this one.
