5. Services of third-party providers

Functionality and types of cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer by your browser. They contain various information, e.g. duration of the website visit or user input. They can be from us as the website provider (so-called first-party cookies) as well as, in the case of cooperation with third parties, come from them (so-called third-party cookies) and are intended for storage of varying durations (duration of website use, several weeks up to years). You can restrict or disable the storage and reading of cookies, but then you will no longer have access to the full functionality of the website.

First-party cookies

Our website uses so-called “session cookies”. They are used to store data relevant to your visit of the website or to recognise your computer now and during your next visit (e.g. easier password entry). These cookies guarantee the full technical functionality of the website. The legal basis for the processing is nFADP:

Third-party cookies

If we work with third parties, you will be informed individually and separately about the use of such cookies and the scope of the information collected in each case within the following chapters on the respective third-party service providers.

Do not track

With the so-called “do not track” setting you can object to the tracking of your website visits. This setting is offered by several browsers. If you have activated the “do not track” option, your visits cannot be tracked:

Google Fonts

We use so-called web fonts of Google Ltd. (“Google”, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to display fonts.

Google is certified for the “Privacy Shield” (https://www.privacyshield.gov/), which is designed to ensure compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

When you call up a page, your browser loads the necessary web fonts into your browser to display texts and fonts correctly. To do this, your browser connects to Google, which tells Google that our websites have been accessed via your IP address.

The use of Google fonts is in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our web pages. If your browser does not support Google Fonts or Web Fonts, a standard font is used by your device.

You can find more information about Google Fonts and the Google privacy policy at the following Internet addresses:

https://fonts.google.com/

http://www.google.de/policies/privacy

The legal basis for the processing of personal data when using Google Fonts is Art. 6 para. 1 letter f GDPR (legitimate interest).

Tracking services: Reach measurement / Re-Targeting / Usage, & Web analyses

For the purpose of appropriate design of the website, reach measurement, analysis of the general usage behaviour of the users on the website and optimization of the economic operation, we rely on various tracking services.

For the purposes of advertising, market research or for the appropriate design of our Telemedia, we create user profiles. These are created and maintained exclusively on a pseudonymous basis in compliance with the German Telemedia Act (TMG) unless you as a user have objected to this procedure. At no time will the usage profiles be merged with the data on the bearer of the pseudonym.

Reach measurement

Reach measurement is used for market research purposes and aims to determine the frequency of visits to websites that are available as advertising media for us. The results serve us as a basis for decisions on the placement of our advertising. We use the following products for this purpose:

  • Hubspot
  • Google Analytics

Usage & Web analyses

Hubspot

SOFT2RIDE uses Hubspot, a service of Hubspot Inc 25 First Street, Cambridge, MA 02141 USA for analysis purposes. Hubspot is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework.

Hubspot is used in inbound marketing, especially for e-mail marketing (newsletters) and in the area of contact form(s). Cookies are used for this purpose, text files, that are stored on the user’s computer and that enable an analysis of the user’s use of the website. The installation of cookies can be prevented by a corresponding setting in the browser software; in this case not all functions of this website can be used to their full extent.

Hubspot will, among other things, perform statistical analyses and evaluations of logged user behaviour in order to better coordinate and optimize the marketing strategy. In this way, a service tailored to the user can be provided. The cookies will only be set if you have given your consent to the setting of cookies.

Hubspot’s cookies expire after 12 months. Before this period, cookies can only be deleted using the erasure function of your browser.

Consent to receive newsletters can be revoked at any time by clicking on the link at the end of the newsletter or by sending a message to admin [at] soft2ride [dot] com.

Tracking is based on your consent in accordance with nFAD.

You can find Hubspot’s privacy policy here.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (a company registered and operated under Irish law (registration number: 368047) with its registered seat at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), is used for the purpose of appropriate design of the website, reach measurement and analysis of the general usage patterns of users of the website.

Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) is transferred to computers of Google in the USA and stored there. Google has joined the Privacy Shield (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active), which guarantees an appropriate level of protection according to GDPR. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR.

We have activated the IP anonymisation, offered by Google, on this website. As a result, your IP address is shortened by Google, within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, before it is used and further transferred. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use the information collected by the use of cookies to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide further services to the website operator in connection with the use of the website and the internet. Further information on data use by Google, setting and revocation options can be found on the websites of Google:

https://policies.google.com/privacy/partners?hl=de („Data use by Google while your usage of websites or apps of our partners“)

 https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads („Technologies and principles / advertising“)

 https://adssettings.google.com/?hl=d („Settings for advertising“)

The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not merged with other data from Google (see anonymisation). You may object to the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser; however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

You can also prevent the collection of data, generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Please note that the use of the browser plugin is restricted to the respective browser and also to the respective computer and may not be deactivated or erased after installation in order to retain the deactivation of Google Analytics. Google’s privacy policy can be viewed at http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Google Ads

The Google marketing services we use also include the online advertising program “Google Ads”. When using Google Ads, every ad customer (i.e. every site operator like us) receives a different “conversion cookie”. These cookies cannot be tracked on the websites of Ads customers. We are therefore unable to evaluate the conversion cookie ourselves. The information collected with the help of the cookie is used to create so-called conversion statistics for our website. This means an evaluation of previously defined actions that a user has performed on the website. Google tells us the total number of users who clicked on your ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. We also use Google Analytics to analyse data from AdWords and the double-click cookie for statistical purposes. If you do not wish the use of ad analysis, you can deactivate this via Google’s Ads Preferences Manager (https://adssettings.google.com/anonymous?hl=en).

Google Maps
On our website we use the Google Maps (API) map service from Google Ltd (“Google”, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to display our location.

Google is certified for the “Privacy Shield” (https://www.privacyshield.gov/), which is designed to ensure compliance with the level of data protection applicable in the EU.

When you enter the subpage where the Google Maps map is integrated, our website sends various information including your IP address to Google in the USA, where it is stored on their servers. If you have a user account with Google and are logged in at the time of your visit to our website, the data is immediately assigned to your account. But even without a user account, Google will create a user profile about you. This happens regardless of whether Google provides a user account that you are logged in with or whether no user account exists.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our transmission of data to Google is based on our legitimate interest in offering you the map function of Google Maps on our website.

You can prevent the assignment of the data we transmit to your user account by logging out of Google before you visit our website. In order to prevent data transmission to Google completely, you must switch off the JavaScript application in your browser. The map display can then no longer be used.
